Valentine's Day Tarot Spread (2026)

Using numerology and tarot to see where your energy is flowing in relationships

A short one for today because I am celebrating today with my beloved.

The numerology of this year's Valentine's Day reduces to the number 8.

2 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 17

1 + 7 = 8

In matters of love and relationships, this brings a focus on balance and cause and effect. How do you combine the practical with the emotional?

Listen, you're seeking connection while trying to survive, and that is not easy. This tarot spread is meant to help you examine where you might be over-investing. Personal ambition (surviving feels ambitious these days, I know) at the expense of intimacy. Or vice versa. Dissociating into intimacy because the real world feels like too much.

Today, consider how the effort you put into partnerships can/will directly shape your long-term stability. Consider the patterns that repeat in your love life. Make room for ambition and play.

Card 1: Where must I claim or release power in my love life?

Maybe you like to plan detailed dates for someone who doesn't bother to put on deodorant before meeting up with you. Or maybe you're with someone who would like some extra attention, affection, and initiative from you, but doesn't know how to express that. Do you need to let your partner pick up the bill more often? Etc.

Card 2: How do material goals affect my love life?

The lead vocalist in the local band with two child support payments may be hot, but is he in the position to be a long-term partner? Will he be able to pay half a mortgage or help with your future kids? Maybe that doesn't matter to you. Maybe you make six figures and just want a boy-toy (good for you)! Here's where you can investigate this topic further.

Card 3: What patterns keep repeating in my love life?

I fully believe that we are stuck in cycles until we learn our lesson. Are you dating the same archetype and coming across the same disappointment? Or maybe everyone you date has the same positive traits, it's just other stuff that doesn't work. If so, what's been missing?

Card 4: What's off between how I feel love and how I live it?

Venus has entered Pisces and the Lover Girls are feral. Are you one of them? Do you experience bodice-ripping...fantasies? Does limerance have a chokehold on you?

Or do you (wrongly) assume no one is interested in you?

Basically, does reality match what's going on in your head?

Card 5: Is my energy between personal goals or love balanced?

Who doesn't want to retire by thirty-five? Or are you the kind that rather be married by thirty-five, career or no career? Are you balancing the personal and the intimate well?

My Valentine's Day advice this year is to think about the long-term. Where do you want to be Valentine's Day 2030? Would you like a family? Would you like to continue dating? Do you want more kids, if you already have them? Do your efforts match your goals?

Happy Valentine's Day!
