A Practical Tarot Spread for Underlying Issues

Witchy season is here and it sure is something this year. Below I have some astrological predictions for October going into November. 

October 2025 Astrology

October 6: Mercury enters Scorpio, Full Moon in Aries

October 13: Venus enters Libra, Pluto stations direct

October 20: Mercury conjunct Mars in Scorpio

October 21: New Moon in Libra

October 22: Neptune retrograde re-enters Pisces, Sun enters Scorpio

October 29: Mercury enters Sagittarius

October 2025 Predictions

I took a break from predictions because most of it was repetitive. I’m not the “let’s meditate until the world gets better” type of practioner, but I also didn’t want to keep reminding you that things were bad when you could just look out the window. 

With that said, there are a couple of things to look out for this month and into November. What stood out to me the most: increased cyberattacks, espionage, legislation regarding civil rights, possible threat to occultists or anybody whose spiritual practice is not mainstream, and changes to travel policies. If you need a passport, get one. Remove sensitive information from cloud storage and your phone. And take care of yourself and your community. 

Beginning of the month

• News cycles and public attention become dominated by themes of power, corruption, sex, death, finance, and psychological manipulation

• Deep-dives, exposés, and whistleblower revelations 

• Leaks, classified information, and behind-the-scenes power plays are uncovered and debated

• Intense scrutiny of debt, taxes, investments, and corporate mergers. (This can correlate with market volatility driven by fear or insider information) 

• How institutions handle scandals or crises is under a microscope. PR spin is less likely to be successful

• Increased discussion and legislation around mental health, trauma, and therapy. Possible discussion of bringing back institutionalization (Fingers crossed that I’m wrong about that one!)

• Focus on the justice system, crime, punishment, and the motives behind violent acts

• Revelations in the realms of sexuality and power dynamics (Hey, what’s that thing they’ve been distracting you from…?)

• Conspiracy theories gain more traction

• Data breaches, hacking incidents, and cyber-attacks

• State-sponsored espionage revealed or significantly increased

• News of a supposed breakthrough in epidemiology

• Changes to forensic science and criminal profiling

• Research into taboo medical fields or the psychological aspects of illness

• Governments or leaders make impulsive declarations, launch sudden military or policy “initiatives,” or take a strong, confrontational stance on an issue

• Sudden, aggressive protests, riots, or social unrest

• A key piece of information may be revealed in a sudden way, changing the landscape of a situation overnight

• Dramatic resignations, firings, or challenges to authority figures

• Nations may act unilaterally, breaking alliances or treaties

Mid-Month

• Push for peace talks, treaties, and diplomatic resolutions to ongoing conflicts

• New trade agreements, political unions, and cultural exchanges

• Business mergers and high-profile corporate partnerships are announced

• People’s attention turn toward beauty, design, and the arts (major art exhibitions, fashion weeks, film festivals, and cultural events, etc)

• A focus on legal fairness, marriage equality, and civil rights (If you want to get divorced, do your best to wrap up the process as soon as possible. If you’re a woman and you’re considering getting married, think 2x and 3x and be sure that you trust this person to represent your interests if you’re ever unable to represent yourself. Not in a sweet, abstract way, but as a real possibility. With that said, this prediction here can be regarding either women or LGBTQIA+ or both.) 

• A prolonged crisis (a war or political scandal) reaches a definitive turning point and may finally recede

End of the month and into November

• Continuing from the beginning of the month, there will be more reveals through investigative journalism and whistleblowers regarding corruption and abuse of power

• More cyberattacks (some of it state-sponsored)

• Cyber attacks on critical infrastructure (either energy, finance, or healthcare). Mostly likely for ransom

• Public discourse becomes even more accusatory

• Law enforcement and intelligence agencies conduct raids and claim to find information that supposedly leads to a major breakthrough

• Collective anger finds a new or heightened mode of expression (could be protests, but maybe a new form of it…or a lot more of it)

• Research teams make a concentrated effort to find a cure to something or to develop new technology…possibly involving secrets or classified research. (So maybe save this prediction to check in on it in a couple of years. We might not find out about it for a while.)

• New legislation, lawsuits, or court rulings aimed at social justice and equality. (If this were some years ago, I’d say it was aimed at promoting social justice and equality…be prepared if it’s the opposite. This will mark the beginning of a significant public conversation about legal reform, marriage laws, or civil rights.)

• A new cultural trend that pushes civility and pleasantness. This might sound good in theory, but it can also go sideways (Think of the phrase: “You should smile more, sweetheart.”)

• Massive humanitarian efforts, charitable giving, and a collective desire to help the most vulnerable

• Mass disinformation and propaganda. Please consider optics and sources and don’t believe anything 100%

• Mystical practices may be brought up in the mainstream… careful if you are a practioner of the occult

• Scandals involving religious leaders

• The downfall of idealized political figures or movements built on a lie

• Crisis related to water. This could include maritime crises and/or pandemics (spit -> water particles -> cough)

• Intensified debates and crises around immigration

• Increased power and influence of transnational organizations (like the UN) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

• Parties may be willing to sacrifice themselves for a cause, or use the rhetoric of martyrdom and victimhood to gain power

• The lines between a strategic power move and a spiritual crusade continues to blur

• Public discourse turns to the “big picture,” (the future, ideology, freedom, and long-term vision). This will lack concrete details

• People and nations speak more directly, which can lead to diplomatic gaffes or cultural insensitivity.

• Changes to travel and tourism policies (get your passport today)

• Major announcements regarding publishing, law, and higher education

Tarot Spread for October 2025

In your personal life, this month may bring underlying issues to the surface. Your personal relationships have the potential to be light-hearted and even romantic, if you wish them to be. You’re more likely to make actionable plans for yourself and want to see the same for the world at-large. Your communication may be intense and provocative. Hard conversation need to be had. It doesn’t need to be doom and gloom, though. You can still plan for the future you want. 

That’s why October’s Tarot Spread is shaped like the horizon. Nihilism in this time is easy. It’s hard, but worthwhile, work to keep going. There is a future you still want for yourself and for the world. And it’s still possible to get there. But first, we have to fix some underlying issues. While global powers figure out how to resolve those issues on the world stage, make sure to address the ones in your personal life. 

The world is complicated enough. Let’s keep this month’s tarot spread simple.

Card 2: How to rebuild from this underlying issue.

Card 3: Why did the underlying issue(s) exist. Be honest with yourself. This reading is between you and spirit. No one is here to judge you.

That’s it for this month. Remember to take care of yourself and your community. You don’t need to make a big fuss about it. Just make your presence and willingness to lend a helping hand known.
